I Like Big Birds

I like big birds,
And I cannot lie,
Standing still,
Or when they fly.

I like big birds,
And I cannot lie,
When I see them on a branch,
Or in the sky.

Apologies to Sir Mix-a-Lot, butt my Muse cannot be denied, of that I cannot lie. This poetry is just an example of our repartee, in case you were wondering what we talk about while we’re bicycling. Anne and I waited until the heat of the day before launching towards the park. We saw three birds of note, a Belted kingfisher, a Great Blue heron and a Great Horned owl. Getting out, we met a couple of neighbors that we wouldn’t have otherwise, one across the street and another in the park. It was good getting out on the bikes today, not much more to say, except that I think that Anne’s Milkweed pod photograph is exceptional!
