I Really Don’t Care Do U

The House for Melania

I do care. I seethe with rage. Yesterday, saw the unveiling of two things that are better not viewed, Melania and the Epstein files or at least more of those files. In all honesty, I have not seen the movie, but then again nobody else has either. About the files, I have no intention of wading through them. I did checkout the DOJ website, where I had to attest that I was 18 or older, unlike the children describe within them. In this same vein, I warn readers about what follows.

████ reported an unidentified female friend who was forced to perform oral sex on President Trump approximately 35 years ago in NJ. The friend told Alexis that she was approximately 13-14 years old when this occurred, and the friend allegedly bit President Trump while performing oral sex. The friend was allegedly hit in the face after she laughed about biting Trump. The friend said she was also abused by Epstein.

As explicit and X-rated as these quotes maybe they pale in comparison to what the DOJ has elect not to reveal. Apparently, their sense of propriety prevents them from doing so. We will see where that goes. This latest drop is still a work-in-progress, what with reports of pages suddenly disappearing.

Complainant reported his ex-girlfriend’s daughters were victims of Epstein’s and one was murdered. While working as a limousine driver, complainant recalled picking up Donald Trump in 1995 to take him to Dallas Fort Worth Airport. During that ride, complainant recalled some of the things Trump spoke about on his cell phone were very concerning and described being “a few seconds from pulling the limousine over on the median and within a few seconds of pulling him out of the car and hurting him due to some of the things he was saying.”

With the release of these documents there is also a new term of art. A disclaimer that announces that simply appearing in these files is not an indication of guilt. That being said, maybe being mentioned thousands of times is a preponderance of evidence that does signify guilt. Individually, these statements are bad, but collectively they are damning and I hope reinvigorate calls for justice.

Donald Trump, the president, had parties at Mar-a-Lago called “Calendar Girls.” Jeffrey Epstein would bring the children in, and Trump would auction them off. He measured the children’s vulva and vaginas by entering a finger and rated the children on tightness. The guests were elder men and included Elon Musk, Don Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump. Attorney Allan Dershowitz was also there with Attorney Bob Shapiro. We were taken in rooms, forced to give oral sex to Donald J Trump. Forced to allow them to penetrate us. I was 13 years old when Donald J Trump raped me. Ghislaine Maxwell was also present.

Enough about these files, at least for now. About the movie, the reviews are in:

  • If syphilis was a movie! — Indiewire
  • I can’t understand a f*cking thing she says! — Variety
  • Should be considered a war crime! — Hollywood Reporter
  • Like being taken hostage by the Taliban! — NY Times
  • Seeing Melania’s journey from Slovian prostitute to First Lady is like going barefoot through a field of Lego with explosive diarrhea! — Roger Ebert

Snow and ICE

Photo by Osman Rana on Unsplash

The snow began here this morning at nine. At the same time Alex Pretti, an ICU nurse in Minneapolis, who came to the aid of a woman that ICE agents were assaulting. He was subsequently tackled, pushed to the ground, piled upon, beaten and then shot multiple times by about half-a-dozen federal agents. Later, I learned that Pretti was carrying a gun. He had a concealed carry license and does not appear to have used it to threaten any ICE agents. Subsequently, ICE began spinning these events. They evacuated the scene leaving the crime scene to the crowd that had gathered. Once ICE fled tensions began to ease and a peaceful protest followed. State and federal law enforcement are at odds; the scene is contaminated and uncontrolled, leaving in doubt any future investigation.

Meanwhile, here in the Lou the snow continues to fall. We are forecasted for up to a foot by tomorrow. It is quiet here. One neighbor could not wait and has cleared his walks, but with more, if not most of the snow yet to come, I can wait. It should be pretty by tomorrow morning.

Court Time at Eight

Old Courthouse Dome Decked Out for the 4th

I have been summoned for jury duty and must report in two-weeks. To prepare for this event, I filled out my jury questionnaire today. Something I probably should have done weeks ago. Anyway, this is the second summons that I have ever received. Back in 2012, I was still working, but I had already begun my own internal countdown towards retirement four years later. I was actually pleased with this opportunity. I had never been summoned before and had begun to wonder what the deal was. I arrived at the appointed hour and then proceeded to sit around all day in the jury pool, just splashing around, waiting to be called. After three days I was eventually called at the very last possible minute.

That was phase one. The rest of the day was filled by a winnowing process. Some eighty people had been pulled from the jury pool for what would be twelve jurors plus two alternates. I was the last person selected as the twelfth juror. The trial began immediately afterwards. A black man was accused of statutory rape, of raping his young niece. He was the only black man in the courtroom, in front of an all-white jury, a white judge and all-white court officers. Even the defense team was all-white. The only other black person in the courtroom was the accuser, his black niece. This situation unnerved me, but it only got worse. The prosecutor outlined a timeline that occurred sometime after the defendant reached the age of majority and before his accuser did. Fulfilling the minimum requirements for statutory rape, leaving years within which this alleged crime could have been committed. The only evidence offered was the niece’s testimony, which was so softspoken as to be unheard by me, and a four-and-a-half-hour videotape of the defendant’s interrogation.

Introducing this video was the white-woman police officer who began the interrogation. Her testimony also elucidated the fact that this years ago incident was brought to light after the accuser, then a high school senior announced it after being placed on suspension for unrelated actions. I’ll spare you the Stockholm syndrome saga and cut to the chase. The defendant initially believed that he had been summoned to the north county Blackjack police station for unpaid traffic violations. When it finally dawned on him what this was all about a seemingly endless back-and-forth ensued. Unable to secure a confession, the female interrogator was eventually replaced by her male superior, who was quite adept at playing the bad cop, complete with shouting and pounding of tables.

One last jab at the prosecution’s shoddy case. The video quality was poor, but the sound was even worse. The audio was so bad that the prosecution supplied the jury with a printed transcript of the interrogation. Once handed this transcript the jury was instructed not to rely upon it, but to refer to the videotape, “because the videotape is the evidence not the transcript,” even though it was frequently unintelligible. This same sort of doublespeak is more recently reminiscent of last week’s fatal instructions to Renee Good, “Get out of here—Get out of the car.”

The next day the jury got the case. I was most apprehensive about this aspect of the trial, but apparently all for no reason. We were twelve good men and women true. We unanimously acquitted the defendant. This caused the prosecutor to fly into a rage. The jury was dismissed and after exiting the courtroom we were met by the defendant and his defense who thanked us profusely. I went back to work that day and six months later Fergusson erupted. The chief prosecutor declined to indite the policeman who killed Michael Brown. He was voted out of office.

It’s All About the Oil

Ferrous Oil

Last night, Trump illegally invaded Venezuela, abducted Maduro its leader and now plans to show trial him in America. In this process he ignored congress, thumbed his nose at international law and now believes that Venezuela’s huge oil reserves are his for the taking. In typical Trump bravado he is already claiming victory, pyric as it may be. It was certainly not about the drugs.

CWE Window Walk

Today, we headed to the Central West End for some holiday shopping at Left Bank Books. I got one book and ordered another, while Anne got a whole basket load of books. Talking with the salesclerk at checkout, Anne mentioned that her sister works for BINC. To which the clerk responded that BINC had helped him to replace his car, after last summer’s tornado had destroyed his existing vehicle. Driving on Lindell, along the north edge of the park there is still plenty of storm damage left to be seen. Dozens of century-old, stately mansions still sport “shower caps”, what we call the white plastic wrappings installed after the storm to protect these houses when their slate and tile roofs were ripped off by the tornado. Trump has instructed FEMA not to offer any Federal aid to Saint Louis for this storm, so homeowners are left to their own devices. The mansion owners surely have insurance, and will likely be alright, but after the storm ravaged the park’s environs, it headed into north Saint Louis, which is black and poor and where many will not recover. Charity is all that they have to rely on now.
