Brown Pelican

This photo goes along way to confirm Merritt’s assertion, because I’m pretty sure that it shows a whopper in this pelican’s bill. We spent the day on the coast, from Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey, to Asilomar in Pacific Grove. It was a bright sunny day, certainly the brightest since we left LA and I have the sunburn to prove it. The surf was still too high for any serious tide-pooling though. 

Later, we all went out to dinner at Fifi’s, a fancy French restaurant in Pacific Grove that Dad and Chris go to every week. It was tres magnifique! We got an early start on celebrating Chris’s birthday this year, which is a big one.
