And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote Goliath in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. – 1 Samuel 17:49
We bade farewell to Bugs and Horsey early enough this morning that we didn’t have to deal with any of Goliath’s blue or pink stuff, but we sure got plenty of rain. It was especially bad when the spray from a passing semi would blind us. We deviated from our usual route by going through Dayton. This got us south of the freezing precipitation. Ohio was fine, in Indiana there was a backup of unknown variety that delayed us and in Illinois there was a detour caused by flooding. The Kaskaskia River had left its banks and gone walk-about, flooding and closing I-70. Still, we made it. As I write this, Anne is in the living room, listening to the weather. 2015 is now the wettest year on record in Saint Louis.
Glad you made it back in one piece. I missed being home this year, but we have been having a busyish good time here on the left coast. In the rain. More than 10-inches this month so far.
We’re in the 8″ to 12″ range
yes – glad you made it home. it turned into a frozen white wonderland, however it was cold rain/sleet by the time I left work with an inch of snow covered by ice on my windshield. lovely. but since it’s still the holidays hardly any traffic on the road home.
Thanks
