Sundown at Garrapata Beach in Big Sur California Number #2

My Bro, Chris, got one of his photos, “Calla Lilies at Doud Creek – Big Sur, CA”, on the cover of Popular Photography magazine last year, after having won 1st Place in the Landscape/Nature category of the magazine’s annual photography contest. Today he learned that another one of this photos (see left) is a finalist in last month’s photo contest, which was held by the same magazine. Way to go Chris! I hope he wins again, but the competition looks pretty tough and includes a lot of other beach scenes to pick from. Chris really works hard to get the best shot. Earlier this year, when we visited him in Monterey, he took us on one of his photo safaris. He took us to many of his favorite photo locales, including Doud Creek. I can’t remember whether or not he took us to Garrapata Beach, but he very well might have. He likes to always shoot around sundown, the magic hour, when the light is at its best. Pictured below is the Master at work on Carmel Beach. He is seen here trying to catch the perfect wave.
