Dirty Bear

Kali the New Polar Bear

Kali the New Polar Bear

It’s my birthday! So, I took the day off from work. I’ve almost never done that, but why not now? I did a lot of little chores today that I’ll not bore you with further. I also rode in the park. It was more of a sightseeing tour than a real bicycle ride. I wanted to see all of the new attractions that had appeared around town in my three-week absence. I first rode to the zoo, where Kali, the new polar bear now lives. Unlike the Hindu goddess by the same name, this Kali is a male. He is a dirty polar bear, at least he was when I saw him. He does have a much improved cage over what the previous polar bears had had, with plenty of water to bathe in, hint, hint. It is easily twice the size of the old cage and it looks way nicer too. The zoo’s plan is to eventually find a mate for Kali and then have room for them to spawn little polar bears. I also visited the Art Museum’s sculpture garden, which has been two years in the making. It looks nice, but makes me wonder why it took so long to create, probably it was all about money. Finally, I like to give a shout out to Aimee, the one person that I know who shares my birthdate. Happy Birthday, Aimee! This being the Lou, maybe Kali is just a bear of color.
