Wednesday morning, at approximately 2:57 AM, but who’s counting (Anne), it started to rain and thunder and lighting. At first it started off rather mildly, but then it started to get worse and then worser still. Eventually, I checked the weather radar and found that we were smack in the middle of a severe thunderstorm box. The weather got even rougher and then the tent began to leak. Anne’s side took the worst of it, but even she remained mostly dry. We had two nights on Traverse City, so we left the tent standing, with hopes that it would dry out during the day, which it did and set off. Wednesday was our day off, so we went for a bike ride anyway. We rode the Mission Peninsula. Anne wanted to do a quilt barn ride, but I talked her into riding with me. We saw plenty of quilt barns and stopped to take pictures of every single one.
