Iceberg, Dead Ahead!

It was a balmy 10 ºF when we drove over to Forest Park. Heated seats were on high. Phasers on stun. Our mission was to boldly go, where we have been many times before. We wanted to photograph the fountain at Round Lake. Yesterday, Anne had seen a TV news report about it. It certainly lived up to expectations. To call Round Lake a lake is a bit of a stretch, with it coming in at less than an acre. However, this 19th-century water feature is older than the park itself. The fountain was later installed in 1916 and was newly renovated just last year. The renovation was designed to allow operation of the fountain all year long. At least that was the plan. We walked out onto the ice, where Anne is seen shivering for scale. The other picture shows the fountain operating normally in the summer.
