Boaters on ‘The Lake’ in Central Park

Anne went to school today, then Rene, Ed and I all breakfasted at Southwest Diner. Afterwards, they both launched off to New Mexico. I thought that this establishment’s southwestern ambience would be apropos for their journey. Plus, it is relatively close to farty-far, where they will be spending most of their day. I laid on the couch for the rest of the day and napped a little. I was tired, besides I think I’ve earned it. Since I retired in July, I figure that I’ve been on the road for two-thirds of the intervening time and feel entitled to a little downtime right now. My travel tally for this long, long first summer of retirement includes eight states and two proviences. Besides it rained today, but that didn’t seem to stop Ethan, the neighbor kid, from mowing my lawn for the final time this season. Anyway, tomorrow is another day and I’m sure that after a good night’s sleep that I’ll feel more energetic in the morning.
