Anne and I watched the classic movie “White Christmas” together last night and like in the movie, where the Vermont ski resort is bereft of snow, because of unseasonably warm weather there, we here in Saint Louis are also experiencing a heat wave, where the mercury is supposed to reach seventy this weekend. Not exactly the kind of weather that puts you in the Christmas spirit. It feels more like shorts and t-shirt weather than December. I’ve already put up all of the mantle decorations for the season. We’ll get pine boughs and a wreath from Ted Drewes, but no tree this year. The wreath will hang from the front door as per usual and the boughs will hang from the old curtain rods that are now bare. They should be able to supply that pine scent. Anne wants to hang ornaments from the boughs too. These holiday decorations will look nice with the new blinds. If we can’t have snow for Christmas, at least we can have frozen custard. There is also the virtual snow provided by this blog.
heat wave here and no snow in Buffalo yet…… Something is wrong….
