Do you know how startling it is when you are bent over, with your head in the washer and right next to you the sub-pump kicks-off? It rained on Friday, it rained all day Friday and Friday night too. It was a cold rain. A few degrees cooler and all that rain could have been ice or snow or both. We had planned all week to do the Maplewood Christmas walk on Friday, but it was just too miserable out, so we stayed home instead. We did shop Maplewood on Saturday though. The weather was definitely nicer and it was probably less crowded than it had been the night before. We bought some Christmas gifts and had lunch. The Maplewood business district is looking better and better every time I visit it. There were a lot of new shops and these shops are better than the ones that they replaced. Among many of the new stores there is a common theme, artisan foods. Sunday was a little bit more laid back. Mainly, I did chores. Anne has switched gears from knitting and is now quilting up a storm. She is racing to finish two quilts that will be Christmas gifts. I started making our Christmas cards. I tried putting up our outdoor holiday lighting, but one of the strands had gone bad. I’ll have to get some more. I’m going to try a different concept.
