Saturday in Seattle

Gnome at the Original Starbucks

I spent all day Saturday on the move. I got up early and went to Pikes Market. I bought a Starbucks, looked around and then called and woke Jay and Carl. Today, I’ll wait for their call. I met Jay at their house, which is undergoing a massive renovation. I got their first and while waiting on their front steps raised the suspicions of some of their neighbors. They kept a close watch on me until Jay arrived. It is really starting to come together. It will look great when it’s done. We left my rent-a-car in their driveway and walked to their apartment. Their apartment is all new and modern. They are the first tenants.

They took me to MOHAI, the Museum of History and Industry, which is new since my last visit. Located in the South Lake Union neighborhood, an area that is also undergoing a massive renovation, this overall is powered with Microsoft money. Afterwards, we did lunch and then checked out a Tesla showroom. Then back to the apartment, for a siesta and a parade of losing Seattle sports teams on TV. We finished up the day watching Carl’s baseball team pull off an upset win against their hated rivals, the Bears. Carl’s team is called the Silver Foxes and Carl with his white beard has garnered the nickname, Santa Claus. Carl ‘vultured’ the win, with three excellent innings of pitching, plus some clutch hitting. After the game, we all went to a local sports bar and along with the ‘hated’ Bears had a cold one.
