Boring January

It was supposed to snow last night, but it did not start until this morning. Only a few inches are expected, but apparently that is enough to shut down the town. No place to go, no need to go anywhere, no desire to go out into the snow anyway. Snow is forecasted to end at three. Maybe we will go out and shovel the walk and clean off the car then. Not that we have anywhere to go tomorrow.
King of Chaos

Seen here is me wrestling with Declan, the King of Chaos, undisputed master of all that he purveys. He had just returned home from an outing and finding me napping on the couch, decided that something needed to be done about that. Groggily stirring, I soon sat up, while he proceeded to hold court as the energetic emcee of the living room. Flying from one room corner to the next. He exhibited so much energy that his energy, if you will, was equal to Emcee squared.
He is gone now. Winging his way to his other grandparents’ home and then on home again himself. He will be missed. I drove David, Maren and Declan to the airport, early this morning. There was quite a bit of fog around. As we pulled up to the terminal, the King of Chaos might have met his match, what with what was evident inside the terminal. Arriving at the airport early was a wise decision. An awful lot of people wanted to get out-of-town. We hugged our goodbyes and as I turned towards home, I saw the thin slit of a waning crescent moon had risen out of the fog. It will be a new moon soon, ready to greet the new year that follows. Driving home, I was already planning on taking another nap.
