Our first stop was the Ann Arbor farmer’s market. Anne hit Spun the yarn store there, while I found breakfast in the form of an apple fritter, a cool t-shirt and Honeysuckle honey from Mackinac Island, all in different vendors booths. When got back to Harry’s the gang was all there. Eight people for eight slices of Anne’s strawberry-rhubarb pie. We scattered after.
We lunched at Cafe Zola and I ordered one of their signature drinks, a Maize & Blue martini, which consisted of Grey Goose vodka, blue Curaçao and Limoncello, shaken, not stirred. I also ordered their Moroccan Octopus. It was sautéed in a lemon-garlic marinade, with an olive tapenade and lemon saffron aioli
After lunch, we walked around Main St., but when we tried to head up to State St., we hit a wall of construction. We gave up walking and tried driving, but with little success. We eventually broke through just north of the Big House. With time to kill we walked Gallup Park, until it was time to pickup Harry and head over to Liz’s. Grilling ensued, with Alex manning the meat. Good times.
