Yesterday, we interviewed a liquidator. Someone who will sell our art, furniture other valuable possessions that we no longer need. She and her partner both seemed knowledgeable and look like they could help us. It appears that any business relationship with her will be a process that will take time, and this process will have to be balanced with the sale of the house. It seems complicated, more complicated than I had figured. On the home sale front we waded headfirst into escrow. We don’t have a buyer yet, but the idea is to have everything ready when that special person arrives. Escrow leads to title insurance, and I knew that I was way over my head, so I called in the estate’s attorney for help. Our paralegal was ready and willing. I feel like I’m on a ride that I cannot get off and it keeps going faster and faster. With the housekeeper coming today, Anne and I took the opportunity to get out of the house and leave it and its problems behind for a few hours. We went to Carmel-by-the-Sea, had breakfast at Katy’s and then went to Point Lobos for a deep soak in nature. It was a great cleanse, but we did so much walking that I was too tired afterwards.
