Weather has spoiled our original plan for today. We were going to head back towards the coast, but wind and rain have deterred us. We were going to go to the beach but today is definitely not a beach day. We’ll just hunker down instead.
Our stay in Boston is winding to a close. Maren has already returned to the States from Panama and is now in Seattle. She toured the Boeing plant in Everett. She will be home in a few days and next week we will depart. Instead of heading straight home, we plan on detouring through DC. Maybe we will try to straighten out some of the recent mess down there. We should arrive in time for the cherry blossoms, which should be nice. I also hear that the Kennedy Center will sometime host the musical Cats. This show has been determined to be unwoke enough to meet the new administration’s tastes. Not surprising really, since most cats sleep twenty hours a day. How more unwoke can you get?
We plan on driving there in one day, necessitating passing through NYC and Philly. It will be an epic journey down I-95. I hope that traffic cooperates. 🙏
The Raven seen here is a trickster and also a supernatural being who helped transform the visible world. It is pictured clasping the moon, ready to release it into the night sky to illuminate the earth. According to legend, Raven, in the form of a baby, cried incessantly until the old shaman gave him the Box of Stars, which he then opens, releasing the stars into the sky. He repeats this with the moon and the sun. Thus, light was brought into the world.
