It is hot out; it has been hot out, and it will continue to be hot out. Hunkering down inside our air-conditioned hovel, we are not unlike our neighbors. No one is out and about these days. This lack of outdoor human activity opens the door for other species to move in and take our place. Take for example the pictured deer, seen here strolling across someone’s front yard. It is broad daylight, and no one is about. No one to scare the deer off, no one to impose human dominance.
