Anne can see Canada from her cabin! Pictured is her view, with today, a down bound lake boat and Ontario in the background. Today is Canada Day, formerly known as Dominion Day, their national holiday that has paced our 4th of July for many years. Today, Canada is 150 years old! Woo Hoo! They remained a crown colony a bit longer than we did, but their independence was also gained more gracefully than ours was. Throughout the day, our view of Canada has been a bit sketchy at times, with fog and mist often obscuring it completely, but as sunset approaches and then afterwards their fireworks, the opportunity exists that we might catch a glimpse of them. It has cleared off considerably, but the show is almost ten miles away. If we do see anything, then any explosions that we might hear would be totally out of sync. Still, I’ll be sticking my head out.
