After two days of driving, Dan and I are now at the cabin. We laid over one night in Ann Arbor, where we were hosted by Bubs and Harry. Jane was there too and someone else… Oh yeah, my lovely bride. On the way north from Ann Arbor, we stopped in Bay City, had a lovely luncheon with Karen and then went down to the Tall Ships festival. It was pretty windy today. More than a few cameras tipped over on their tripods and there were a few tent issues on the festival grounds. All of this wind also translated into delays with the tall ships arrivals, because of chop on the lake. We stayed until four and all but three had arrived, the largest, the 1812 warship replica, the Niagara and the two newest attractions, the Spanish gallon and the Viking long ship. It would have been nice to see them and if we could have stayed to hear Karen’s concert that would have been even better, but we still had miles to go. As it was, when we did get here Brimley had all but rolled up its sidewalks. The Cozy Inn and Jack’s had both stopped serving food and we were left with Pickles as our last chance. I prescribe sleeping in this morning.
I really enjoyed seeing both of you yesterday! It’s been too long, and more catching up to do than there was time. Last night’s concert went really well (in spite of the wind) – and with the help of plenty of clothespins and inventive arranging of music sheets… I only had ONE escapee, quickly recaptured 😀
It was really great seeing you again. It has been too long. Here’s looking forward to next when we meet again, may it be sooner.
Yes, here’s to! Thanks again for stopping by 🙂
