Lotus Pods

Anne and I walked to breakfast this morning. We went to a relatively new place called Whitebox. Anne had been there once before, but it was new to me. Like the name implied, the décor was white, but everyone there seemed attired in black, except for Anne, who was wearing Green Bay Packers colors. It is located where Strattons used to be, in the Ritz Carlton plaza. Whitebox is attempting to be a little more upscale than Strattons was, but I’m not sure that their higher prices are really worth the added ambiance. The weather was gray on the way to breakfast and it was raining on the way back. We are expecting freezing rain today, but so far it hasn’t shown up. I went to the grocery store again today and as bad as it was there yesterday, it was even worse today. The mob scene there was the effect of a perfect storm. The store is always busier on Sunday afternoon than most other days, people were still trying to stock their larders before the coming storm and the college students had returned from their winter breaks. It made for quite the trifecta of crowds.
