Bobby Kennedy’s Funeral Train

These photos are a few of the hundreds that Paul Fusco took, while riding on Kennedy’s funeral train back east from California. They appeared as a slide show in the Missouri History Museum’s visiting show last year, “1968″. They are all very powerful and moving. 

The exhibit also allowed for a bit of revisionism. The following bar chart tallies the votes of visitors. Kennedy is the clear favorite. Are all of his votes simply nostalgia or in the intervening years has the country finally caught up with him? McGovern is still losing to Nixon though. I smell a rat.
