Remember how I claimed that we were all off work for the rest of the year? Well, I lied. Anne went to work today, even though the schools are closed for the holidays. She was substituting for the district office secretary. It was a pretty easy gig, buzz visitors through the front door and answer the phone, leaving plenty of time for knitting. Her only problem was that in order to do her job she had to first be inside the office. When she showed up on time the door was locked and there was no one else around. She came back home and called the lady she was subbing for, who told Anne where to find the custodian who would let her in. She ended up buzzing about half-a-dozen people in and answered about the same number of phone calls. All-in-all it was a pretty easy day for her.
Today, I took Dave to the AT&T store to get his new iPhone activated. Dan has had his new phone since before Christmas, but because Dave was in Colorado then, he had to wait until today. After concluding our phone business, we went next door to REI. I bought a chest harness or “Chesty” for the Go Pro camera and then have to go try it out by bicycling in Forest Park. I successfully mastered the camera’s time-lapse mode and took about fifty pictures like the one above. They all kind of looked the same. I’ll have to work on making these photographs a little bit more distinct from each other.
Yes, this is the type of present that ends up costing you money.
