The picture with today’s post shows a Red Headed Woodpecker eating a bug.  Yum!  Yum!  On Saturday, I saw what I thought was a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers fighting over territory.  They are the species that Woody the Woodpecker was based upon.  I’m still not so sure that I didn’t see them, but on Sunday I snapped the picture with this post.  It definitely shows a Red Headed Woodpecker, but I have no idea what kind of bug.  Ha-ha-ha-HAA-ha!  Ha-ha-ha-HAA-ha!  He-he-he-he-he-he-he-he-he-he!

On Monday, Dan safely arrived in LA and rented his first car.  Oh Lordy, how are we gonna keep the boy on the farm now Pa?  He landed at LAX and had to drive down to somewhere near Anaheim.  His drive through la-la-land was at times some what harrowing.  Like the time that a bus passed him on the right.  While the bus was in a right turn only lane, it first passed him and then pulled back in front of him.  All the while he was going the same speed as most of  the traffic.  Anyway he made it to his friend’s place, Cat, where he will be staying.  There are up to seven schools that he hopes to visit while out west.  At least this year the wildfires have abetted, unlike his last visit when he was shutout by fire in the LA area.

In blogging news of the weird there is the Facebook blogger/robber.  This guy burglarized a home.  While there he takes time to update his Facebook page on the family’s computer and then logs out, but leaves Facebook up.  Since, no one in the robbed family used Facebook, it was pretty easy for the police to handle it from there.
