Potpourri

gone-to-seed

I biked in the Park this morning, before work.  It was cold and dark and I only saw four other riders.  I still got in 15 miles.  Looking at this week’s forecast, it maybe a while before I ride again.  Brrrrr!

This bit of honey is from Jane:

Return to the Hundred Acre Wood, the first authorized sequel to A.A. Milne’s Pooh stories, will be published October 5 by Dutton Children’s Books, a Penguin imprint. According to the Associated Press (via USA Today), the new book will be written by novelist and playwright David Benedictus and illustrated by British artist Mark Burgess. Benedictus said he hoped the new book will “both complement and maintain Milne’s idea that whatever happens, a little boy and his bear will always be playing.”

This one is for Mouse.

Rant: As if all the New I-64 construction traffic was not enough, the students have returned.

We had Dan over for dinner last night, spaghetti.  Afterwords we all watched the Golden Globes.  Slumdog Millionare swept.  Yeah!  30 Rock slurped up all the TV comedy awards.  Apparently, Tracy Morgan’s character is not that much of a stretch.  Tina Fey managed to suck it up and also more importantly not fall out of her dress.  I missed her Sarah Palin glasses though.  😉

Finally, a Bushism for Carl:

“I think it’s really important for this great state of baseball to reach out to people of all walks of life to make sure that the sport is inclusive. The best way to do it is to convince little kids how to-the beauty of playing baseball.”-Washington, D.C., Feb. 13, 2006

  1. Hi!
The stitch pattern for the scarf is s leaf pattern I got from Mouse and for the life of me can’t remember what it is now. I know the needles were size 11 and it took 2.5 skeins of Malabrigo Chunky. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful! Happy knitting!
