A young Great Horned Owl (owlet) sitting on a branch with wide, startled eyes as a squirrel leaped through the air toward it. The Story: The squirrel repeatedly bounced and jumped at the young owl—knocking it out of the tree three times that morning—while the owlet remained safe and eventually settled back down next to its mother.
