Fowl Morning

The last two mornings, Anne and I have walked Declan and Puck down the beach. Today, Puck flushed some turkeys and then did not know what to do with them, since they are bigger than she is. Other than a lot of noise and a glimpse of the turkeys flying up into the trees, we did not really see them. Unlike the pictured mergansers and loon. The mergansers wanted little to do with us and kept swimming away, but the loon followed us as we walked down the beach. It was a very grey morning, with overcast that began to rain as we got back to the cabin. Later Anne and Declan walked the short end of the beach. When they got to that end, they began collecting rocks. Declan filled his pockets so full of rocks that his pants began to sag down. Then Anne introduced Declan to the joys of tossing rocks into the water. Soon all of his pockets were empty.
