Senior Care

African Daisies

Yesterday, we took dad to the doctor. He has limited mobility, and we had to use a wheelchair. The problem is that his house is about as far as you can get from being ADA compliant. Chris, Anne and I had to negotiate the twelve stairs (4+4+1+1+1+1) from his bedroom to the car. We did it, but it was not easy. After his doctor’s appointment, we went out to lunch. Lunch was in Carmel at the Rio Grill, Chris and dad’s favorite restaurant. Then after lunch, we again struggled to get him back in bed. He has a new hospital bed that raises and lowers. It also has an inflatable mattress cover that has “magic fingers” to help prevent bed sores.
