Snow Day—Not

Declan and Puck Watching the Weather

Master of all he surveys. Declan in Boston watching the snow fall outside. Last time, we got a lot of snow. This time not so much, but that didn’t stop people in Saint Louis from panicking. Yesterday, when we were running errands, I was asked at every stop, how much snow are we going to get? Today, the answer was made clear, almost none. The final forecast for our area of town was for from one to three inches. Less than an inch is what we got. That did not stop everything from closing though. The zoo, garden and art museum all closed. Maybe art hill was open, but only for the most desperate of sledders. What snow we did get was confined to the grass. This morning, before the snow started, the Google announced that our snow would start at 9:15 AM and end at 11:47 AM, and they pretty much nailed those times. I guess when snow is so rare and precious and you have to count every flake, then that kind of accuracy is called for, but for me, I think that I’ll leave my snow shovel in the basement.
