Yesterday, we went to the Heights, our local fitness center. The pool was a big hit. In addition to swimming, it also features a lazy river, for power walking and a splash pad for Declan. He was just starting to get bored with the pool, when we showed him the splash pad. The pool was warm and getting out for the splash pad was not. Declan was soon shivering and turning blue, but even though he is only just learning to speak and did not have the vocabulary to say this, I’m sure he wanted to say, “I’m not cold.” Just like his father before him had said.
Today, we visited the Science center, which was also a big hit with the juvenile set. Lots of interactive and interesting activities, buttons to press, things to build, big kids to observe. Dan accompanied us on this outing. Afterwards, we went to Rooster’s on South Grand. All-in-all a pretty successful outing.
