Louisville

Skylark, Zak Ove, 2017

We hit the road this morning. Our stop today was Louisville, KY. Seasonally, known for horse racing. Year round this city has a whole lot of bourbon going on and a surprising amount of art too. We are staying at the 21C the Museum Hotel. Pictured is one of the many artworks on display around the hotel. We drove all morning and then after check-in we started walking. We walked along the Ohio’s riverfront. Much of it bordered by a park. Our turnaround point was in the middle of the river. One of these bridges, the Big Four bridge, named for the four railroads that built it, is also one of four bridges that crosses the Ohio in Louisville. It is a pedestrian bridge that began life as a railroad bridge in the 19th-century. We got 20,000 steps.
