We’re headed west! It’s road trip season. Big drive today, 600+ miles, all the way to South Dakota. Because of the long drive, we elected to stay in a motel tonight. Good thing, because it rained this afternoon and is expected to rain again tonight. It is no fun camping in the rain and starting a camping trip in the rain is even worse. Our motel is located adjacent to the Big Sioux River, which runs through the center of town and has great river walks along it. We walked to the falls, this town’s namesake, which is really more of a series of rapids, class 5 rapids. Sioux Falls is South Dakota’s largest city and makes a nice jumping off point from civilization. Tomorrow, we head into the badlands. Cell service could be sketchy from here on out, so don’t be alarmed if I miss a post or two.
