Point Cabrillo Lighthouse

Point Cabrillo Lighthouse, 1909

Frank took us across the bay to the lighthouse. It is quite visible from the Vrbo. The walk through the heather featured a cliff to seaward, with crashing waves below. Frank brought along his dogs, for whom the walk was probably the highpoint of their day. Yesterday, when we first arrived in Mendicino, it was all sunny and bright. Today, not so much. Yesterday, after leaving San Francisco, we headed up the 101 until it was time to turnoff and head west towards the coast. Our road was all twisty and turny and led us from farmland, to vineyards, to a redwood forest. Approaching the coast, signs for tsunami warnings began to appear. After negotiating roadwork, we made it to Frank and Kathy’s place.
