Tulips are grouped into fifteen divisions based upon shared characteristics such a bloom time, size or flower type. The common name “Miscellaneous Tulip” refers to the fact that these tulips are varied varieties of wild species and are grouped together as part of the last division, the miscellaneous or what is leftover tulips.

Today is Arbor Day, as we learned to our surprise after arriving at the gardens. They were handing out free trees, but not wanting to have to carry one all around, we wait too long, and they ran out of them. That’s OK, we had a great time communing with nature anyway. The tulips were going great guns, along with many other early spring flowers. It was a beautiful day.
