On the 4th, the Bay Mills Indians had planned their fireworks display to celebrate Independence Day. Unfortunately, that night was stormy, and it was decided to postpone the display until the following night, but that night also turned out to be unsuitable, because of fog. You couldn’t even see the island, which is about a half-mile away, so any chance of us seeing the fireworks, about five miles away, seemed pretty bleak. The fireworks finally occurred last night, Saturday night, with near perfect conditions. I set up my camera and tripod on the beach and awaited the show. I got some good pictures, but my camera seized up just as the finale was about to occur. More’s the pity, because it would have been glorious.
