Yesterday, we got almost six inches of snow, the light, dry, fluffy kind. This morning, we didn’t get our paper though. It is still cold, but above zero and we are now on the cusp of a slow, but steady warming trend. I shoveled the walks and got Anne to come out to play. The sun came out too. We went for a walk, our first one in days. It felt good to get back outside again.
Today is Mardi Gras, which is normally a pretty big deal here in the Lou. “We’re number two. We’re number two. Where the heck is number one? Oh yeah, New Orleans.” I don’t think that the snow would have deterred the revelers, but we’ll never know, because Covid already has. The city has shut it all down this year. To celebrate the occasion at least a little bit, I fished some of our old beads up from the basement, for Anne and I to wear around the house for each other.
