Aluminum Overcast

Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress

The Experimental Aircraft Associaton brought its World War II Flying Fortress, a Boeing B-17G bomber, named Aluminum Overcast, to the skies above the Saint Louis and the Arch over last Fourth of July holiday. 12,000 of these bombers were built during the war, and only thirteen are still flying today. Two of these thirteen can carry passengers, one of which Saint Louis was honored to have as the centerpiece of its air show.
