We got a little rain on Sunday. It wasn’t much, but it had been many weeks since it rained last. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to convince me to take Monday off from constant watering. We also got a bit of a brake from triple-digit temperatures. Mind you, our highs are still in the nineties, but it helps to take the edge off.
From last weekend, when it was still rather toasty, through this work week, I have been bicycling in the park. I launch in the wee small hours and finish before nine on the weekend and even earlier during the week. Even so, it still hasn’t been particularly pleasant. I always knew that it was going to get a whole lot worse later in the day, but it wasn’t all that great even that early. This morning was different. Yesterday’s humidity was down and I even felt a bit of a chill as I launched at dawn. This cooler then previous weather encouraged me to ride harder than I have all week. Unencumbered, I raced around the gerbil trail at speeds that I have not seen since, I don’t know when. It felt great! 😆
