Here are some pictures from our trip Monday to the Smokies. We drove through the beginnings of the tourist mess in Pigeon Forge, then escaped to Townsend, “the quiet side of the Smokies”. We drove the Cades Cove Loop and parked at the far end to do the hike to Abrams Fall. It was 2.5 miles in and then 2.5 back out. Lots of up and down in those 5 miles. I sent two pictures of Carl and I cooling our feet at the end of the hike. You don’t have to use both, but it was funny looking at them on the slide show, because it looks like I’m startled. I’ll send the fungui series later.
The pictures and preceding text is from Anne. Yesterday’s post, was all about vacationing in the mountains, the Rocky Mountains, with Jay and Carl, last year. As you can see Anne is again vacationing with Jay and Carl in the mountains, this time it is the Smokey Mountains, but, say hey, isn’t Carl a fun guy?
I adore Cades Cove!
