Political Theater

Tonight will be a night of great political theater.  No, not the Obama/McCain debate, although that should be pretty good too.  I’m speaking of Frost/Nixon, the Repertory Theater’s season opening show.  This play is based on the David Frost interviews of Richard Nixon after Nixon had left the White House in disgrace.  It has gotten good reviews so it should be a treat.  I’ll just have to play catch up tomorrow with regards to the debate.

UPDATE: It was a good play.  It used that tried and true template of a play within a play.  Most of the theatrical tension was drawn from off screen scenes.  The project, aka get Nixon, appears to flounder at least until a late night phone call from Nixon himself.  As an audience member one is left to wonder are the really good parts fact or fiction?
