After months being on the market our house for sale in Monterey has finally received an offer. The initial offer was lower than what we wanted, so we counter offered. Our counter is now on the table. I do not know if these negotiations will go anywhere or not. All I can say it feels good to be asked.
However, this plays out, it will do so within a background of travel. Frank and Chris are headed to Hawaii, while Anne and I will backfill them by going to Monterey. Hopefully, this sales opportunity will have played out, one way or the other, during this period, because when Chris returns, we will head east again, all the way to Boston. We will be flying throughout these travels, and I am really looking forward to all of these flights amidst a government shutdown. 🙁
If the house does sell, then we will have to move. The buyer has shown some interest in the furniture, plus we have a couple of brokers lined up. Whatever happens, we will get it done. If this sale should fall through, it will at least act as an impetus to get us moving out. Maybe I can put Jay and Carl to work? 😉
the domino effect
I hope so.
I have been wondering about timing. I can be flexible with when I leave to get there, and am up for helping with whatever. Carl has a 10 pound limit along with movement restrictions, so more like a cheerleader. Or holding doors.
I think we can plan on going ahead as planned.
