For Christmas we were gifted by the kids this solar powered, Wi-Fi enabled, camera ready, battery backed up, AI guided, high-tech bird feeder. It took us longer than expected to get it working, but now that it is the photos and movies are rolling in. In addition to sending us the media, it also identifies the birds that it sees. There is also an optional suet feeder that we still need to get setup. So far, knock on wood, there have been no squirrels. Although dozens of starlings descend upon it regularly. I must say that the Birdbuddy is a great success. This is the first time that a flicker has been seen at one of our feeders. In other news, early yesterday morning (1:30 AM) we had an earthquake. It was only a 3.8 with its epicenter ninety miles away in central Illinois. We heard the quake’s rumble but did not feel anything. Anne thought that it was just me getting out of bed.
