We were getting a little stir crazy and decided to get out. Our plan was to go to the garden and take pictures of the Japanese garden, which always looks so lovely in the snow. Unfortunately, although the garden was open, it was only partially so. Due to ice and snow and the difficulty clearing that, only as far as the Climatron was open to the public. We were doubly disappointed, not being able to see the Japanese gardens and resigned to see the Climatron, which we had just toured last week. Security was weak and we toyed with the idea of going off the reservation and around the barricades, but thoughts of garden gendarmes and the plant police dissuaded us from doing that. We toured the Climatron and the Arid house, but when it was time to leave, it was apparent that we would have to retrace our steps back to the door that we had come in.
