Another night of the living dead, but somehow this shift went better than the last one. More physical activity and less staring at a tube. It is dark at night here and I mean really dark. You can see the stars really well here. Speaking of star gazing, I highly recommend using night vision goggles. Better than beer goggles, at least for looking at stars. Even with 12+ hour shifts, it hasn’t been all work, but no play. Christian and I have managed to squeeze some sight seeing, at the expense of sleep. Yesterday, we went White Sands National Monument. It was quiet, very quiet. Combined with the all white sand-scape it was a very unusual place. We got “lost” in the desert there, barefoot and without water, in that we lost where we parked the car, but made it back OK.
