The Crown of Montezuma, Lidija Brkljacié

This stately headdress is 116 cm tall and 175 cm wide. It is made of gold and feathers from different species of birds, including 400 feathers from the most interesting species among them – the quetzals. One quetzal bird has only two such feathers, which speaks to the opulence of this decoration. The original is currently in Vienna’s Weltmuseum. It took 2,565 feathers, 444 golden coins and 112 woman-hours for this replica to be handcrafted by Lidija Brkljacié, Kraglice&tak to.
