Yesterday’s rain turned to fog. Today, we were socked in all day. Lake boats could be heard mournfully sounding their horn as they passed invisibly by the cabin. In the morning, it was a heavy wet fog that coated the window screens and dripped from the surrounding trees onto the porch roof. Tap-tap-tapping with such abandoned that I thought it was raining, but checking radar yielded not a cloud in the sky. Around noon, we got enough gazinta together to marshal our forces for a trip to Meijer’s. Leaving the lake behind we soon also dropped the fog. On the drive into town the sky was clear, sunny and bright. We walked the beach. Halfway through our walk the fog briefly lifted and we could see Canada, but only for a little while, because the fog soon regrouped and closed in again.
