Valentine’s Day getaway! Anne and I headed north. This morning we went birding at the Riverlands, where we saw eagles, pelicans and swans. Afterwards we went to Alton, lunched and poked around town. We found a really neat pottery studio and got to watch them work. Checked into the lodge at three and then made the mistake of going back out again and got caught in the rain and soaked. Later a group of people were singing, playing guitar and telling ghost stories. We ended up partying with them the rest of night. We’ll see about meeting with those ghosts later.
