Into Thick Air

We first left Zion, then Utah and Arizona. Then we drove across Nevada, skirting sin city, Las Vegas, and landed in California. Death Valley to be specific. We’ve gone from the high desert of the Colorado plateau, with elevations of over 10,000 feet and some very thin air to below sea level, the lowest place on the continent. We’re staying at a resort in Furnace Creek, because daytime highs can hit 120 degrees here. I don’t care if it is a dry heat that is too hot.
