Like Mary Poppins, I only promised to stay until the wind changed and today it did. All vacation long, here at the cabin, we’ve enjoyed a steady and sometimes brisk west wind, a wind that blew in from the lake and blew all of the bugs back into the swamp. Today though, the wind changed and now it is an offshore breeze and is blowing all of those bugs back out of the swamp. It’s time to go. Tomorrow, we head to Canada. Today, I stocked up on Canadian money, which is very fancy looking compared to the old greenback. It’s quite colorful; it has a hologram in each bill and braille too. The texture of the bills is almost like plastic. The best thing about Canadian dollar is that it is currently exchanging at $1.30 to the US dollar. I wasn’t able to get that rate, but I got pretty close. Money changing is still the same racket that hasn’t changed since biblical days. Tomorrow, we head to Ottawa, Canada’s capitol. It will be a long drive, but a nice hotel, awaits us at the end of the day. About the picture, the hummingbirds have finally discovered their feeder that Harry put up here this summer.
