Congratulations Rey

Rey

We are in Knoxville, Tennessee now for the graduation of our nephew Rey, from the U of T. Rey’s parents, Jay and Carl, and sister Ashlan are here too. Rey is graduating with a Masters in Information Sciences. We drove here yesterday, Jay and Carl were already here and Ashlan flew in last night. They all are staying with Rey, while we are across town in a Motel 6. When we checked in, two police detectives were in the lobby. They were looking for another guest. I just hope that they were not homicide detectives. Such is the price of being cheap.

Today, we all attended Rey’s hooding, where he was recognized with an award, the Chancellor’s Citation for Extraordinary Professional Promise. He was the only graduate there today to receive one of these university wide prizes. After the ceremony, when he turned his phone back on, Rey soon learned that he had just landed a new job. It is a one year gig as an archivist in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. He starts in June.
