We visited the Corning Museum of Glass yesterday. Located in Corning, New York this museum or rather the whole town is a testament to the success of this company town. It is a gorgeous museum in a beautiful town, which is nestled in the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes district. The Finger Lakes are western New York’s playground. Astarte by Robert Carlson is just one example of the contemporary glass art, which was my favorite aspect of the museum. Astarte was the Greek name for the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar.
